Blogs we Love
Good morning from the sun-filled Greek Islands!
I am very happy to share the photos of a spectacularly camera-extraordinaire couple. AND more importantly we are very happy to see this wedding featured on the Lace In The Desert wedding blog. The images from Anna Roussos are lovely and light-filled, the backdrops are stunning and the Bride and Groom? Well they couldn’t be more in love if they tried.
Bassel and Mariam, originally from Lebanon and Egypt, traveled all the way from Dubai to celebrate their love on the magical island of Santorini. Surrounded by family and friends they had an amazing party right on the edge of the Caldera, overlooking the Aegean sea.
One of the highlights that night, was Mariam’s dress. It was designed specially for her by her lovely sister and wedding dress designer: Yasmine YeYa. Finding the perfect wedding dress may require some research (and may cause stress to some brides). Mariam was in her own sister’s capable hands who not only designed a spectacular wedding gown but also supervised the entire preparation on the day. Our team was just ‘blown away’ by this breathtakingly beautiful Egyptian bride.

Today we are o-so-happy for two reasons: firstly we are sharing all the wonderful wedding photos of my sister (and fellow Wedding Planner) Stella AND we see it featured on Style My Pretty (be sure to check it out)!!!
You may recall my own ‘secret’ wedding in Venice and sharing my thoughts and tips for Brides to Be. So here is Stella’s very own story (and version from a Brides’ point of view) on her Vintage Style wedding held in Athens:
Moscha, Evangelia and I have organized many weddings around Greece but mainly in the Cycladic Islands. I absolutely love summer weddings but I adore winter weddings. The historical center of Athens holds a special place in our hearts. The energy both Tassos and I feel when we stroll around Plaka and Dionusiou Areopagitou is just so magical and intense; we love all things- ancient Greek. A few years ago I assisted in the coordination of a wedding at Agia Sophia Chapel…and at that moment told myself that if I were to marry then this would be the church. So when Tassos proposed I shared with him this ‘dream’ of mine; we visited the chapel a few weeks later and we both agreed this was the place for us to start as ‘Husband & Wife’. Athens is a stunning city and having the Parthenon ‘watching over & blessing our wedding’ was a wish come true. We both wanted to avoid having a big ‘etiquette’ wedding with formal dinners and decided to have an intimate celebration with close family and friends.
We each got ready at our parent’s house. Our beloved friend and guru of event design Litsa Floris of Floris Special Events set up the area I was getting ready which included a wonderful brunch and serene set up for keeping me calm!!! Cup cakes, mini chocolate flavored pastries, tea sandwiches and of course soumada: sour almond juice served traditionally at Greek weddings; all gracefully presented in family silverware and crystals.
Following the ceremony we spent two hours with Nikos Gogas and the crew of WedFilms shooting around the alleyways and narrow streets of Plaka whilst our guests where having a casual lunch at the New Acropolis Museum. It was a gloriously sunny day, Tassos and I were really happy and relaxed and we enjoyed every minute of that walk.
We met back with everyone at the Polis Art Café right in the heart of Athens Business District. It was in fact Tasos idea to use Polis Art Café as this marked the start of our relationship- and he was so right. There was no sit down dinners or speeches; just lot’s of dancing, feathers and Chocolate!!!!!!!!!! Everybody loved the signature cocktails by the superb team of Bar Etc, the masks to celebrate the start of the Greek mardis gras and the white chocolate cameos. I want to thank Markos Machairopoulos of MR.CO who so kind-heartedly helped bring to life my 50’s themed – feathers – and all things black concept with the valuable help of Studio 7 Florescence .
So much energy and labor goes into the design and planning of a wedding. My advice to any bride is simply this: enjoy this experience. It is easy to get caught up in color combinations, menu tastings, and cake fillings… but at the end of the day, this is about your love, and sharing that love with all of your favorite people.
Things are bound to go wrong here & there. I even had a minor ‘hiccup’ with the wedding cake on the day (which almost no one noticed in the end). But guess what? That’s okay! On your wedding day, make sure you pause and take it in…all of these people are here for you, to celebrate with you!

Hello to our wonderful brides and grooms to be!
It’s no secret that Stella and I (and the whole team really) absolutely ADORE weddings in Mykonos. And when that destination wedding happens to be an uber-romantic Italian soiree, well we know we’re in for a treat!
The wedding of Anna and Beppe was a true Italian spirited celebration. It’s a goldmine of wedding goodies where bright color, wonderful Mykonos scenery and gorgeous details are everywhere in sight. The wedding took place at the gorgeous Chapel of Santa Marina Resort overlooking Ornos Bay. Prosecco, ouzo and local delicacies followed whilst gazing at the beautiful sunset. The venue embodied the easy elegance the couple had imagined uniquely paired with true Mykonos cosmopolitan flair. The dinner reception progressed into a fun-filled evening on the beach and under the stars with AC Milan fans (from the brides side) singing football hymns to southern Italy foot ball funs (for the groom’ side). Guests refused to ‘call it a night’ and venue had to call in for extra drink supplies as dancing continues until sunrise.
Be sure to watch the whole day (and night) unfold in this short video and dream of Mykonos summer days (and nights).

Good day to all!
We are o-so-thrilled to share with you our feature on Wedding Style by Grace Ormonde for the second time. When this prestigious wedding blog & magazine informed us they loved the photos of Rosemary and Paul’s wedding we just couldn’t stop smiling. And how can one not love these photos? Oia is indeed a dream wedding destination and Kirini Suites sets the perfect backdrop for an intimate ceremony and gala dinner.
Rosemary and Paul were one of those couples that are best described as Tranquil and over-the-top Kind! Our team not only enjoyed the planning process but also thrilled to discover how ‘tenderly in love’ they are with each other. Thanking them both for their trust and for choosing to tie the knot in the Greek Islands! Click here for the full story on Grace Ormonde Wedding Blog.
See below every last gorgeous moment captured amazingly by Nikos P. Gogas and dream away! Summer is just around the corner!
Greetings from the Greek Islands.
Spring has arrived and is here to stay whilst summer is just around the corner. So why not dream of these endless summer days by looking at photos of destination weddings?
More and more couples decide to have an intimate destination wedding. The reasons are so many: escape in exotic locations, celebrate with those nearest & dearest to the couple, avoid stereotypical wedding style back home, and so many more. And what destination could provide a more amazing backdrop for such a unique celebration, other than Santorini & Kirini Suites?
The wedding of Laurence and Melissa is a truly beautiful celebration with unabashed elegance and simplicity. We are also thrilled to see this wedding featured on Belle & Chic blog.
Thank you to George Pahountis for the breathtaking photos.
Greetings to all!
Looking for a reason to jet off to a far away land, a wonderful little paradise for saying your I Do’s? Then look no further than the wedding below in the Greek Island of Santorini!
There is just ‘something’ super romantic about Santorini weddings. The landscape, the dramatic volcanic cliffs. the insanely gorgeous sunset all work magically together for a truly romantic destination I Do. The lovely girls at Love4Weddings just featured some of the very best moments of one such wedding: Olivia & Justin’s Sweet & Romantic Spring Wedding in Santorini. We are thrilled to see these beautiful images by Thanos Asfis tell the story of this destination wedding weekend.
The bride, who is of Greek descent, wanted her romantic spring wedding to take place on the island that is considered one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Before ‘tying the knot’, the happy couple hosted a wonderful sailing cruise and rehearsal dinner for family & friends to express their appreciation for travelling from so far away.
The ceremony was held at the Cathedral Church in Fira followed by a reception on a gorgeous Estate in Imerovigli. Read all the wonderful details on the Love4Weddings blog and get inspired! It’s sophisticated and fun, intimate and elegant and all kinds of pretty.
Hello to our wonderful couples!
Today I am sharing with you a wonderful day in photos that are not wedding photos. You will surely agree with me they are truly inspiring and remind us of the real meaning of marriage and bringing families together.
Destination Weddings are so much fun. Actually they are more than fun; they are full of excitement, cheerfulness and joy. The focus is mostly on the wedding day itself but Destination Weddings have other events planned around the wedding day. Either to thank guests for making the effort to travel miles away from home, introduce family and friends who have never met before or simply because the couple want to spoil their guests with parties, candlelit dinners or sailing to explore the place they are getting married.
We want to share with you the wonderful day we planned for Olivia and Justin’s family and friends as it was one of the best guest experiences we’ve had the pleasure of putting together. It’s usually referred to as ‘The Rehearsal Dinner’ but this was more than just a dinner. It was a day of pure fun! What was so lovely about planning this ‘Welcoming Wedding Guests event’ was how specific the couple were about the experience they wanted their guests to have. For example… their love for Greek Food and Greek Music.
So we chose to start with a morning cruise around the volcanic isles of Santorini which also included Greek Meze and Syrtaki on board.
In the evening guests were surprised with a candlelit dinner in a 400-year old canava; cave like building where the locals made wine. And to top it all up live music with Tsabouna: the traditional Greek Bagpipe which certainly set the tone for the rest of the evening….actually the wedding itself as guests would not let the musicians stop playing.
This was, for both families, their way of expressing who they are through the whole day’s celebrations. And it was a fabulous day! Thank you to Thanos Asfis for the exceptional images.
Greetings from the Greek Islands!
I know most of you are dreaming of beautiful weather and sunny days in the Greek Islands. And those planning their destination wedding I Do are certainly looking for ideas.
Here’s how to get inspired: fall head over heels for this gorgeous wedding. Fall madly in love with the chic and sophisticated style, the simple yet elegant flowers and the stunning bride and groom who really made the effort to follow the photographer around ‘off the beaten track’ Santorini.

Greetings to all wonderful brides (and grooms)!
As this year is coming to an end, we’re finding ourselves looking ahead to what’s in store for 2014. And we know our brides are on the look out for that unique idea to style their dream Greek Island Wedding. We always keep our eyes open for the next big thing, and sifting through gorgeous bridal shows and photos of real weddings has given us some great insight on what’s to come. The trends for 2014 weddings are playful yet elegant, spectacular (somewhat dramatic) and fun. Here’s what happening this year!
1 ) Wedding Décor
We spotted a tendency to move away from the ‘everything matching’ style in favor of a much more eclectic decor scheme. Mixing elements of contrasting styles creates a look that’s fresh and truly unique. You might be pairing vintage style lounge furniture with sleek modern chairs, for example, or use linens with bold patterns: from chevrons and quatrefoils to florals and geometric shapes. Patterns are a great way to bring color and dimension into the reception decor scheme. Think about the spectacular contrast of these patterns against the ‘white washed’ venues whilst planning your wedding in Greece.

2) Wedding Dresses
Dramatic veils, 1920’s-inspired & and open-backed gowns and lush Lace; the season is about statement makers. Wedding dresses that sit just above the knee are also having a moment under the bridal fashion spotlight. With the use of lace, draped tulle and striking necklines, they still have that much sought after ‘wow’ factor; just perfect for destination weddings!

3) What about the Groom?
The classic bow tie is slowly making a comeback for grooms as a popular choice over the tie. There are some great modern bow ties out there that ‘adventurous grooms’ will sure find inspiring.
4) Pantone Color of the Year
Perfect for your “something blue,” Pantone has selected it’s top color for 2014 — Dazzling Blue! We think it resembles the blue in our logo and are loving it. From your wedding shoes to linens, bridesmaids dresses & wedding cakes, there is no shortage of ways to incorporate this dazzling shade into your wedding palette!

And remember: Don’t incorporate a trend because it’s hot. Think outside the box and incorporate a trend that is a unique reflection of you and your tastes. Sooo looking forward to our upcoming weddings!
Warm Island Greetings,
